PLEASE

PURPOSES ONLY!!
Andrews Powder Coating, Inc.
is proud to currently hold over 600 stock and custom
color blends! We feature the highest quality powders,
ranging from epoxies to urethanes, hybrids and acrylics.
We have earned a reputation for being able to custom
match any custom color and texture.

Liquid paint and powders are
NOT categorized the same way! They rarely have
a cross reference to each other. If you are searching
for a special color or custom
blend, we request that you send us an exact color
sample that you are trying to
match (via mail, not over the internet). It is quite
possible that the color you are
looking for will be a relatively easy color match!

In liquids, to create the color
‘pink’, you start with a can of liquid red and a can
of liquid white. Creating pink comes from adding red
liquid paint into the white liquid paint until the
desired shade is achieved. In powder blends, you may
start with a box of white pigment and add some red
pigment, but this is only the beginning. Extrusion/grinding
involves premixing the pigments with all the other
ingredients of the formulation followed by extrusion
using a single or twin-screw compounder. The extrudate
is then milled to a controlled particle size and sieved
into dry powder form. Only now are we ready to spray
our pink sample to see if the desired shade has been
achieved.
If
the process above did not yield the desired shade,
the mixture is discarded and the entire process starts
again from the very beginning! You can clearly see
that the time invested along with technology and science
behind custom blending and extruding powders is much
more difficult than simply mixing liquid paint!
Since
the inception of our business here, we have had a
lot of fun creating custom blended colors from items
such as bricks, stones, items found in magazines,
liquid match to house trim, color blends to match
all domestic and foreign automobiles and motorcycle
parts, bark from trees, clouds in the sky, and even
a ‘creamy vanilla’, curiously designed to tempt your
taste buds!
Please
note that the charts shown above are for reference
purposes only. Your ability to view the quality, style
and hues of these basic color choices is based on
your own computers’ color showing ability. For instance,
on your computer to you, RAL-3000 Flame Red may look
exactly like the color that your piece needs, however,
that shade may have been slightly skewed during the
color transmission capabilities.
Custom
colors, textures, hammertones, fluorescents, combinations,
fades, candies, metallics, clears, anti-graffiti,
glitters, dormants, pearlescents, chromes, aged metals,
transparents, and many other special effects are all
possible here at Andrews Powder Coating!
